What ya’ playing? – 2017 Week 3

It’s been a quiet one on the game playing front for myself this past week.  Part of that is due to putting a bunch of time into writing up my Nintendo Switch preview pieces for the site as well as working on some other ideas.  Got myself a whole bunch of articles and think pieces I’ll look forward to sharing as and when I get round to them, and I’m very appreciative of the support given so far.

Spent a chunk of time refreshing the look of the site too.  Improving things for both desktop and mobile views of the site.

Week in review…

Finally started to put a little more time into Pokémon Moon this week.  I had 2 set backs a while ago in which I made the absolute rookie mistake (twice) of not saving my game.  One time the battery died on my 3DS, and the other I pulled the cart out whilst my system was closed forgetting I hadn’t saved.  It’s such a modern day gamer privelege.  I just close my system shut with the intention of coming back to it later and totally forgetting that things like Pokémon are one of the few examples in this day and age that don’t autosave.

That aside I’ve put a lot more time into Toad Rally on Super Mario Run.  Earlier today I was randomly looking at the app store and saw something called “Golf Clash”, and having been a fan of many golf games of the past I figured I’d give it a go.  I also convinced the ladypal to download it too so we could play some vs.  In the process of trying to show off and hit powerful shots (which come with a big accuracy risk) I’ve actually lost more than I’ve won against her in total.  For a free game though it’s been a pretty fun start, an easy quick play type fix when it comes to a mobile game.

Closing in on this month’s payday I have again had no money to treat myself to the occasional game or gaming related thing.

I did however pre-order the Crash Trilogy remaster on Amazon.  Not sure why it’s priced so highly in the UK compared to the USA, but I’ll just have to assume that the Amazon UK price will change once the release date and boxart update.  The game shouldn’t be far off and if Activision manage to nail the games handling then I’m certain that will be a game that this house will be fighting over PS4 possession for whom gets to play it most.  Currently I’ve sort of relinquished playing much PlayStation as my ladypal is all over Final Fantasy XV.

Check back next week where I’m sure I’ll have had a much more fruitful week of gaming, and I hope the same can be said for yourselves.
